The best way to become a skilled drone pilot is to practice flying the aircraft. Like riding a bike, learning to become a proficient drone pilot takes time. You will probably experience a few crashes along the way, but don’t let this discourage you. Practice makes perfect. Find a large open area free of people and property, and – if possible – free of trees and tall manmade structures, like telephone poles.
Remember: this is not a toy. You can and will create serious damage to people, property, and your drone through negligence or reckless behavior, so take your time. Practice your landing and takeoffs, observe the environment, use common sense, and be patient.
